Prior to joining HVS International, Julian worked as a specialist hotel valuer for leading international real estate practices including Cushman & Wakefield and FPDSavills. He has over 12 years of valuation and consultancy experience across Europe, South East Asia, Asia Pacific and Australia and has valued diverse product types ranging from boutique hotels and full service city centre operations through to multi-faceted luxury resort operations. Further to the launch of a hotel valuation capability, HVS Sydney is also pleased to welcome Denise Robinson-Rennie as a new member of its consultancy team. Denise graduated in 2004 as the Dux in her class at the InterContinental Hotelschool and has since been actively involved in feasibility assignments across Australia. Since the establishment of HVS International in Sydney in April 2003 the founding directors, Ron de Wit and Rutger Smits, have developed a highly regarded consultancy business, growing rapidly to now six full time staff. Rutger Smits commented that “with the office’s consultancy infrastructure now firmly in place, it is ideal timing for the establishment of our valuation capability and the introduction of HVS’ globally recognised valuation approach and methodology.” Ron de Wit added that “Julian brings a unique level of international experience. This is extremely beneficial to a business that is itself increasingly global.” The joining of Julian and Denise marks a significant and positive step in the development of the Sydney office and acknowledges the enormous potential for HVS International in Australia and the Asia Pacific. The Sydney office now offers its multi-national client base a comprehensive range of consultancy and valuation services across the region, with recent assignments covering not only Australia but also New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
