In a move to address the increasing number of troubled hotel assets, HVS Capital Corp announced the launch of HVS Special Hospitality Assets Group designed to help hotel lenders and borrowers with workouts of distressed loans, foreclosure and bankruptcy matters.
“HVS Special Hospitality Assets Group is a multi-disciplinary group that brings together many divisions of HVS’ global consulting and services organization along with law firms to offer a full-service approach to all parties involved in distressed asset situations,” says Mike Sullivan, Managing Director of HVS Capital Corp. “We’ve been through this part of the cycle before, and understand what it takes to provide acceptable solutions for both lenders and borrowers in workout situations.”
HVS Capital Corp is the lead firm in the Special Hospitality Assets Group, coordinating HVS’ other divisions such as Consulting & Valuation, Asset Management & Advisory, Receivership Services, and Hotel Management depending on the requirements of the workout. HVS Capital’s expertise in arranging transactions and structuring hotel financing provides the fundamental understanding necessary to eventually recapitalize the project, restructure or sell the note, or dispose of the underlying real estate collateral.
“By combining all the requisite services to lenders and borrowers during the proceedings with HVS Capital Corp’s ready access to rescue equity or distressed asset buyers, a comprehensive plan can be quickly implemented to stabilize the asset and create a number of acceptable end-game alternatives,” added Sullivan.
