Leading Global Hospitality Firm HVS Once Again Sponsors New Orleans Annual Roadfood Festival Scheduled for March 26 - 28, 2010

Scheduled for March 26 - 28, 2010

The 2nd annual New Orleans Roadfood Festival, scheduled for the weekend of March 26-28, 2010, will transform 5 blocks of Royal Street in the French Quarter into a Foodie’s Paradise. Leader in global hospitality consulting and services, HVS, will again sponsor the Food-Lover’s Festival.

“The New Orleans Roadfood Festival presents food from all across the USA,” explains Festival visionary and organizer, Stephen Rushmore, Jr, Chief Operating Officer of HVS and blogger for Roadfood.com. “We bring together regional specialties from across America right to the French Quarter.”

Twenty vendors – from among Louisiana’s best restaurants and destination Roadfood restaurants around the country – serve legendary dishes, in affordable sample-size portions. Festival-goers can enjoy:

  • Real Texas barbecue from Louie Mueller’s;
  • Seafood chowder from the Maine Diner;
  • Shrimp Uggie made by Anthony and Gail Uglesich – coming out of retirement for the Festival!;
  • Tucson Tamale Company’s hot tamales;
  • Tony Luke’s Philadelphia cheese steaks;
  • Boudin sausage from T-Boy’s slaughterhouse,
  • And MORE!

The excitement kicks off Friday, March 26 with a VIP Opening Party, where Roadfood.com will present the inaugural Blue Plate Award, honoring men and women who embody the best of America’s regional cuisine, to Anthony and Gail Uglesich. The New Orleans Roadfood Festival will also host:

  • The creation of the World’s Longest Po’Boy,
  • A beignet eating contest;
  • A Saturday evening crawfish boil and pig roast;
  • Strolling brass bands;

“You can travel for miles and months around the country and never discover all the great dishes that Roadfood Festival goers will indulge in during one weekend,” Rushmore continues. “ This weekend presents the best opportunity for passionate foodies to discover and enjoy the best specialties that define American food at its most flavorful.”

The New Orleans Roadfood Festival is free. Proceeds from the sales of food and beverage will go back to participating restaurants, including New Orlean’s Café Reoncile, which gives at-risk youth the opportunity to learn about the food service business. Last year’s inaugural Festival attracted more than 15,000 visitors . For more information, visit the Festival at Facebook and Twitter.
