Services include single-asset and portfolio hotel appraisals, market and project-feasibility studies, franchise evaluations, and advisory expertise on large-scale mixed-use and public-private developments. The new office is headed by Tanya Pierson, a state-certified hotel appraiser and an Associate Member of the Appraisal Institute with more than 20 years in the hotel industry.

HVS was the lead hotel consulting firm for the Radisson Blu Mall of America hotel development in the Minneapolis suburb of Bloomington; the project broke ground on May 26. The Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Statistical Area offers more than 360 hotels, with demand driven by a rich mosaic of tourism, arts, sports, higher education, state government, and banking. The latest HVS Hotel Valuation Index forecasts a strong recovery for hotel values in Minneapolis between now and 2015.
Tanya Pierson graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management. Tanya joined HVS in 1994 and has since provided consulting and appraisal services to over 2,000 hotels, including some of the premier hotel properties in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Her experience ranges from markets in Canada to the Caribbean, and she has also coordinated analyses of large hotel portfolios, including Extended StayAmerica, Athletic Clubs, La Quinta, and Equity Inns.
