HVS Dubai Regional Managing Director Hala Matar Choufany was featured in Hospitality News, Middle East magazine as one of the 35 Influential Women in the Hospitality Industry. Hospitality News is the publisher of magazines and directories in the Middle East which focused on the hospitality sector.
The article recognizes 35 women who are either successful entrepreneurs or have leadership positions in their organizations. These 35 women are a “who’s who” in hospitality, travel and tourism in the Middle East.
Hala is responsible for the HVSs valuation and consulting work in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). She has worked on several mid- and large-scale mixed use developments and conducted numerous valuations, feasibility studies, operational assessments, operator searches and negotiations, strategy advice, return on investment and market studies in Europe, MENA and Asia. Hala has in-depth expertise in regional hotel markets, a broad exposure to international markets, and maintains excellent contacts with developers, owners, operators, investment institutions and government entities.
Before joining HVS, Hala had several years of operational and managerial hotel industry experience, including work as a trainer for the Hard Rock Café brand in the Middle East. She has lectured at Notre Dame University in Lebanon on international travel and tourism. She is fluent in English, French and Arabic.
Hala is an official Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). She also holds an MPhil from Leeds University, U.K., an MBA in Finance and Strategy from IMHI (Essec- Cornell University) Paris, France and a BA in Hospitality Management from Notre Dame University, Lebanon.
