With the world’s biggest sports event commencing in Brazil, HVS São Paulo analyzes the impact of the games on the region’s hotel market. Despite the turbulent preparations, the event has had a positive start, and hotels in majority of the host cities should have good reasons to celebrate.

The Rio de Janeiro hotel market in particular, and those in Salvador, Recife, Natal, Fortaleza and Brasília, are anticipated to record strong performances in a traditionally lean season. RevPAR is expected to double during the month-long tournament in majority of the host cities” says Cristiano Vasques, Managing Director of HVS São Paulo.
