PHOENIX, AZ, May, 1, 2020: As the hotel industry grapples with market instability and changes worldwide, this also represents an opportunity for some hoteliers to take a longer-term view of their businesses. Hospitality Net launched a panel of leading hospitality experts on wellness, lifestyle, and spas.

Leading the discussions as the panel's Champ and contributing Expert is Mia A. Mackman, Managing Director of HVS Spa & Wellness Consulting and Founder & Principal of Mackman|ES, a future-ready, wellness and spa consultancy. Ms. Mackman is also Founder & President of the Arizona Spa & Wellness Association and will be initiating questions to a panel of industry experts and academics on the topics of wellness, lifestyle, and spas.

Mia, who is based in Sedona, Arizona, has extensive consulting experience and has been successfully identifying future value propositions in the market for over 16 years. She works with global investors, hotel and resort developers, and hospitality organizations, and she contributes as an industry expert to international business reports, global think-tanks, and world news organizations.

According to Ms. Mackman, the World Panel will work closely with visionaries, influencers, and executives to magnify the narrative related to ways wellness impacts, adds value, and enhances contemporary cornerstones in the hospitality industry. This represents an important opportunity to examine, develop, engage, and assist hoteliers with strategies that foster stronger wellness propositions and public health priorities that support diverse hospitality models.

The first topic of this panel centers discussions on Post-Crisis Planning in Urgent Times of Wellbeing and Health. These viewpoints aim to share thoughts on how companies, stakeholders, and developers are managing rising new demands linked to well-being, spa assets, and future guest experiences, as they begin to map out their post-crisis business strategies, calculated investments, and complex decisions amid the current crisis and beyond.

Some 20 leading C-Suite executives of European and U.S.-based hotel chains and hospitality groups have been outlining their viewpoints on topics ranging from asset management and sustainability to technology, human resources, and branding/distribution.

As wellness and lifestyle propositions continue to expand, this new panel will facilitate important topics for pertinent discussions related to the immediate impact on mental health, returning engagement, guest experiences, and underpinning action-planning for value and growth.

About the World Panel

Hospitality Net has established a forum where the hotel industry's opinion leaders share their thoughts and insights on the important issues and events that are affecting the global hospitality business. Called the "World Panel," this virtual thought-leadership platform is a place where hospitality pros can go to read thought-provoking observations, discover opposing points of view, and support their own thinking with new perspectives.

Leading each panel is a “Champ,” chosen by Hospitality Net. The Champ's role is to formulate an initial viewpoint, which is the starting point for the panel. This viewpoint could be a statement, proposition, or question—something to elicit spirited responses from panel contributors, who are called “Experts.”

With the help of Hospitality Net, a Champ identifies potential Experts, invites them to participate, and formulates viewpoints that are transmitted to participating Experts using a dedicated online and easy-to-use platform.

During an established period of time, a Champ will engage views from 10 to perhaps 25 Experts so that an entire collection of views can be published at the end of the month. Since the views will be brief, the final World Panel posted will not be a long, heavy document that readers have to plow through, but rather a readable and even provocative overview of different opinions on the matters affecting us in the hospitality business.
