Jai Patel was born into the hotel business. His parents began their hospitality enterprise with an 18-room motel in Metropolis, Illinois, and Jai has grown attuned to the responsibilities, challenges, and rewards of hotel operations ever since. When the family’s Country Inn & Suites Nashville Airport East faced bankruptcy in the worst of the 2008/09 recession, Jai stepped in to assume management. Three years later, revenues doubled, customer-service scores shot upward, and operational costs dropped as the hotel went green. His efforts to turn the struggling hotel around made Jai the 2012 Business Leader of the Year in Nashville. As a Senior Project Manager with the Nashville satellite office of HVS, Jai uses his hard-won knowledge of hotel operations, markets, performance trends, demand generators, competitors, and other critical factors to advise you on the prospects and value of your hotel.
Jai’s entrepreneurial ambition, academic training, and firsthand experience with hotels provide you with crucial insights to guide your hotel investment and development goals. He excels at field research and fine-tuning financial analyses and performance projections to produce an accurate value for your hotel. Jai earned bachelor degrees in Finance and Enterprise Management from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He is a member of the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) and the Tennessee Business Association (TBA).
Eager to give back to his community, Jai has volunteered with the Ronald McDonald House, tutored children at the Knoxville Boys & Girls Clubs, and raised money and gifts for Toys for Tots. He enjoys travel, both for work and recreation, and is a dyed-in-the-wool fan of University of Tennessee Volunteers college athletics and the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs.
