As someone whose personal and professional travels have taken her to every continent and with her deep understanding of international business, HVS has found in Whitney Harper the ideal individual to serve as its Global Director of Human Resources and Professional Development. In this capacity, Whitney focuses on developing the talent pool of HVS, the leading hospitality consulting and services organization, with more than 30 offices around the globe.
Since joining HVS in 2008 she created the firm’s global recruitment strategy and a three-tiered training program: StartHVS, FocusHVS and DevelopHVS -- as well as professional development webinars and other training initiatives. She is a trusted advisor to HVS’s Partners, Managing Directors and Board of Directors, supporting the growth and development of the firm globally. Whitney is a Franklin Covey-certified 7 Habits instructor and is the global trainer of the “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” program for HVS.
Whitney began her hospitality career with ARAMARK at the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece as a team leader in the Olympic Village. She then moved to Asia where she worked in Conference Services at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore. After a year, she was promoted to lead the Training and Organizational Effectiveness department for the hotel.
Her next role took her to Africa where Whitney served as a Facilitator and Consultant for Leadership and Training Consultancy, the sole licensee for Franklin Covey in Egypt. While in Egypt she also started working as an instructor for eCornell, which she continues today. When she returned to Asia to work at the Olympic Games in Beijing, China, she worked for JetSetSports as a Hotel Manager. She has also had the opportunity to work at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada and in 2012, the London Games.
A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hospitality Administration, Whitney, in her free time enjoys traveling, cooking, playing sports, and hiking with her husband.
