Prior to joining HVS in 2001, Mr. Sullivan served as Managing Director of Sonnenblick-Goldman, which he joined in 1974. During his career, he has been responsible for the financing and sale of more than 650 hospitality properties (hotels, resorts, golf courses, and shared ownership) and for completing, on average, roughly $1.0 billion per year in debt and equity transactions in hotels/resorts nationwide.
During the economic downturns that occurred in 1974/1975, 1980/1982, 1990/1994, 2001/2002, and the current downturn, Mr. Sullivan was active in workouts, sales of sub-performing and non-performing notes, and REO sales of hotel & resort assets. In fact, in 1993, as a Resolution Trust Corporation Contractor, Mr. Sullivan and his team successfully sold the largest land holding in RTC History, then 18,000 acre Banning-Lewis Ranch. The Ranch was sold to an all cash buyer, a Saudi prince.
