Westmont acquires the Park Inn Amsterdam City West and B-Aparthotel Westgate 

Westmont Hospitality has acquired the VEN Amsterdam, a business and entertainment complex located in Amsterdam’s Sloterdijk area, from real estate firm Omnam Group. The transaction includes the new 476-room Park Inn Amsterdam City West, the 50-room B-Aparthotel Westgate, 4,000 sqm of conference space, a Holland Casino with a total area of 5,000 sqm as well as 6,000 sqm of retail space.

Thomas Cook buys two properties in Gran Canaria and Greece 

Thomas Cook Hotel Investment, part of leisure group Thomas Cook Group, has acquired two properties, in Gran Canaria, Spain and Kos, Greece. The properties are the 100-room Casa Cook Kos, Thomas Cook’s flagship and highest-performing own-brand hotel based on customer feedback, and the 252-room Sunwing Arguineguin Hotel on the Canary Island. In addition to the two hotels, Thomas Cook has acquired a greenfield plot in Kos with the intention to build a 250-room Cook’s Club to open in summer 2020.

Holiday Inn Express Göttingen in Germany acquired by Real I.S. 

BayernLB’s fund provider specialised in real estate investment, Real I.S. AG, has acquired the 144-room Holiday Inn Express hotel project in Göttingen, 130 km south of Hanover, on a forward-sale basis from German developer Bauwo Grundstücksgesellschaft mbH. The property, located near Göttingen’s main train station, will be operated under a 25-year lease agreement with Stuttgart-based operator Success Hotel Management. The hotel is scheduled for completion at the beginning of 2020.

German Best Western Premier sold to private investor 

Best Western Premier Seehotel Krautkrämer, located 130 km northeast of Dusseldorf in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, was acquired by private investor and hotelier André Grimmert, who also owns the Best Western Plus Parkhotel in Velbert, some 30 km northeast of Dusseldorf. The 75-room four-star hotel is set to undergo an extensive renovation and potential extension of up to 55 rooms as well as a new meeting facility.
