Josh leads the Brokerage & Advisory division for HVS Americas in the southeastern United States. With nearly two decades of investment sales experience, Josh has participated in over 260 hotel transactions with an aggregate value of $2.2 billion. He advises both private equity investors and institutional clients on hotel transactions of all classes and sizes, from independent limited-service hotels to full-service and select-service portfolios.
Josh’s extensive and long-term industry relationships, together with HVS’s extensive market intelligence, help to maximize value for his clients. He consistently identifies ways to get deals executed despite potential obstacles. Josh is well versed in like-kind exchanges, lender requirements and dynamics, franchise negotiations, general diligence, and distressed deal management. Josh is supported by a team of highly experienced HVS professionals for each transaction, which results in an exceptionally high level of execution quality and closing rate on transactions.
Before joining the HVS, Josh was First Vice President and Director of the National Hospitality Group at Marcus & Millichap, where he executed hotel transactions in the southeastern United States. He was also co-founder and Senior Managing Director for Paramount Lodging Advisors. Josh joined the hotel brokerage and advisory business with a hotel operations background; he previously held senior management positions with both Hilton Hotels and Forte Hotels. His personal hotel investment background combined with his extensive brokerage background offers him a unique and in-depth perspective on hotel transactions.
