Consulting Experience

Hoteliers count on HVS to deliver valuations conducted by professionals who know hotels in and out. Lauren Hock, a Project Manager with HVS New Orleans, has spent more than a decade studying and working with hotels from coast to coast. Armed with proven HVS appraisal methodologies, a seasoned support team of hotel appraisers, and a keen attention to detail, Lauren will ensure you receive the most trustworthy, thoroughly supported, and comprehensive valuation of your hotel.

Lauren earned her BS in Hotel Administration from Cornell University, working her way up to Student Supervisor at the school’s full-service Statler Hotel. Her next hospitality appointment was with the Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Hotel & Resort in Charleston, South Carolina. In management roles ranging from housekeeping to front office to club lounge, Lauren handled room inspections, report preparation, guest satisfaction, staff supervision, and concierge services at the full-service luxury resort, which under her watch earned a coveted five stars and five diamonds rating. Later, Lauren rose from Guest Services Manager to Rooms Executive after just one year at the Cliffs Resort in Shell Beach, California, where she tracked budgets, supervised hotel staff, and worked with sales managers to improve rates and occupancy levels; she ultimately took the helm as Hotel Manager, working closely with staff to provide guests with a cohesive resort experience, from restaurant to rooms.

Lauren loves to explore new restaurants and cuisines, and her own culinary creations range from grilling an entire smoked turkey to making an apricot jalapeno jam with maple syrup from a friend’s farm. Lauren also gardens and grows her own fruits, vegetables, and herbs. She loves the outdoors, and when her work is done she often heads out to bike and explore the antique streets and neighborhoods near her home in New Orleans.
