Austin’s prior experience in hotels and hospitality includes work at Atlantis, The Palm hotel in Dubai, which was voted the “World’s Leading Landmark Resort 2015” by the World Travel Awards. Austin helped research and create concept statements in preparation for the future opening of the Royal Atlantis Residences, including plans for all facilities and amenities. He also established customer-service initiatives to propel the hotel’s guest satisfaction scores. Austin formerly worked in management and guest-service roles at the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost in Germany and the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort and the Mandarin Oriental in Miami.
Austin earned a BS in Hospitality Management from Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. He also holds a diploma in German and European Union Studies from the University of Edinburgh.
Austin speaks English, Spanish, and German. He has spent time in more than 30 nations and regions worldwide, including the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Argentina, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Latvia, Estonia, Malta, Egypt, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. He stays in tune with his hometown of Philadelphia by following the Eagles, Phillies, and 76ers.
