Shannon L. Sampson

Consulting Experience

Managing Director and South Texas Region Leader, Shannon Sampson oversees the Austin, Houston, and San Antonio offices of the firm from his home base in Austin. Shannon is an expert in all aspects of hotel valuation, particularly the market dynamics affecting lodging econometrics in the state of Texas. Shannon has conducted hundreds of full-service hotel appraisal assignments, as well as feasibility studies and market studies for proposed hotel projects. His keen analysis of market factors helped pave the way for the development of the Omni Dallas Convention Center Hotel and the Fairmont Austin convention hotel. In addition, he is a much sought-after consultant for trophy-asset projects due to his knowledge of the luxury, boutique, and specialty hotel segments. Shannon has also undertaken many assignments for non-gaming hotels (as opposed to casino hotels) in Las Vegas. Shannon’s background includes frontline experience in hotel operations and management, and he has authored articles on several Texas hotel markets, effective yield management, and adaptive reuse of historic buildings. Shannon earned his bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
